Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a starting fuel supply corresponding to warming up condtions in a carburetor having a starter fuel passage by providing on one side of an emulsion tube of the starter fuel passage a side chamber which can vary its volume corresponding to the warming up conditions of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: When the engine is in a cooled condition, since the air within an air cylinder 11 connected at one end to a heating part 12 for the cylinders of the engine is also cooled and compressed, a plunger 8 is positioned outside (leftward in the drawing) through a diaphragm 10, so that the side chamber 7 is expanded. If the engine is started in this state, the fuel within the side chamber 7 and a starter fuel passage 4 is drawn in through the emulsion tube and mixed to be a thick mixture. The mixture is fed into the engine. On the other hand, when the engine is at a warmed-up condition due to a high temperature of the atmosphere, the air within the air cylinder 11 is expanded to push the plunger 8 to the rightward direction, so that the volume of the side chamber 7 is decreased. Accordingly, fuel- air ratio of the mixture is decreased properly at this time.
