Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress potential rise of the thyristor rectifier upon earthing trouble by placing a capacitor at the neutral point of the input circuit of the rectifier. CONSTITUTION:If any earthing trouble has occurred to the circuit, such a potential is generated between the circuit and the ground as to break down a thyristor rectifier 2 since the earthing trouble is intermittently maintained by an arc whereever the the contacting point of the circuit may be located and, if the earthing trouble has occurred on AC sice, through the turn-on and off of a thyristor also and, if resonance conditions are set up, resonance current is intermittently continued. To prevent this, i.e. abnormal potential rise, the capacitor 7 is placed at the neutral point of the input circuit of the thyristor rectifier 2.
