Abstract

PURPOSE: A mixture of aminoacids are subjected to a liquid chromatography with a column filled with a porous cation exchange resin having network structure composed of a polyvinyl aromatic compound terpolymer bearing sulfon and carboxyl groups, whereby being separated from one another rapidly with high accuracy.
CONSTITUTION: A porous cation exchange resin with network structure composed of monovinyl aromatic compound-acrylic or methacrylic ester-polyvinyl aromatic compound terpolymer bearing sulfone and carboxyl groups in the structural units is used as a filler for the column and an aminoacid mixture is subjected to a liquid chromatography to separate into each component. The above ion exchange resin is prepared through following steps: the suspension polymerization of a mixture of starting monomers, swelling of the resultant terpolymer, further pore formation by addition of an inert organic solvent during the polymerization and subsequent removal of the solvent and finally heating of the resultant resin together with conc. sulfuric acid.
