Abstract
PURPOSE: To protect a CH4 fermentation vessel from oxygen inflow and to lower the cost of a sewage disposer, by partitioning a vessel into a fermentation chamber and a purification chamber with a barrier through which a conduit of a special construction is provided.
CONSTITUTION: A sewage is charged in a CH4 fermentation chamber 2 through a sewage charging conduit 8 which opens at an upper part of the chamber 2. The sewage ferments and generates CH4 gas due to the decomposition reaction by anaerobic bacteria in the air tight chamber 2. When a predetermined pressure is detected by a pressure switch 13, a signal is fed to a control device 16. The device 16 actuates a gas pump 15 to carry CH4 gas to a reservoir 14. When the head of the sewage in the chamber 2 reaches the level of a conduit 6 due to the charge of the sewage through the conduit 8, a part of the sewage to be treated is carried to the bottom part of an aeration chamber 19 of the sewage disposer 3 through a gas short-cut preventing line constructed by a U-shaped conduit 7. The sewage, after subjected to the aerobic treatment in the aeration chamber 19, is carried to a precipitating chamber 20 where the sewage is separated to supernatant liquid and sludge. The sludge is returned to the chamber 19, while the supernatant liquid is sterilized in a sterilization chamber 25 and then discharged.
