Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a bridge easily by a method wherein an optical waveguide is formed by a quartz glass substrate functioning as a clad layer and a laminate consisting of an optical waveguide layer and a quartz clad layer, the waveguide is cut down rectangularly at a central section in the longitudinal direction, and a superconductive layer is made up extending over an upper section of the thinned substrate from an upper section of the remaining optical waveguide. CONSTITUTION:The optical waveguide 14 is formed in such a manner that the optical waveguide layer 12 consisting of SiO2 and Ta2O5 and a quartz clad layer 13 are laminated and made up on a quartz glass substrate 11 functioning as a clad layer. A groove entering the substrate 11 is formed to a central section, being made rectangular in the longitidunal direction, a surface layer section of the substrate 11 and the layers 12, 13 located on the groove are removed, and a optical waveguide 4 is formed in difference in stages. The optical waveguide is positioned on an axis extending over an upper section of the thinned substrate 11 from a central section of an end section of the remaining layer 13, and covered with the superconductive layer 18, and an extending section 19a is built up rectangular to the axis to the layer 18 on the layer 13.
