Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease rotary engine troubles by providing a doughnut type cylinder with plural rotary pistons for acceleration and deceleration of a rotor, and further with a piston speed change cam for transmission of a torque.
CONSTITUTION: A doughnut type cylinder 2 is provided with an inlet port 3, an exhaust port 4, and plugs P, and also equipped with plural rotary pistons 9 and 10. The cylinder is further provided with the first cam 18 for a piston speed change, which makes a transmission piece advance or retreat at each desired angle, and the second cam 19 for a piston speed change, which sets rotors 9 and 10 in a motion in a direction of acceleration or deceleration as well as transmits a torque from the pistons to a main rotary shaft 8. One set of pistons perform four cycles twice per round. Thus, a rotary engine, simply constructed, low in price, and considerably trouble-free, is producible.
