Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a shadow mask and shorten its depth by externally sealing a screen in which the screen and each address in another direction are formed and its opposed electron gun using substrate glass and funnel glass. CONSTITUTION:Funnel glass 5 is combined with neck glass 8 which encloses an electron gun 10 in one body and sealed with substrate glass 1 and soldering glass 3 which correspond to its face. A conductive film 6 is coated on the inner surface of glass 5 and power is supplied from a terminal 7. The power is sent to an electron gun proton through a contact terminal 9. A deflection system 11 addresses the electron beam flux emitted from the electron gun 10 to the arbitrary position on a screen. Moreover, glass 1 consists of soda lime glass and coats a conductive film which is used for an X(Y) address as the fluorescent stripe of the screen and the silver wiring for the X(Y) address which is used for the grid electrode on the electron gun side. This can eliminate the need for a shadow mask and obtain a cathode ray-tube with its short depth.
