Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve accuracy, environment resistance and maintenance characteristic by disposing an upper frame elevating servocylinder device with a specified titled adjusting mechanism in the relatively wide space over the frame and so arranging said mechanism and device as not to receive the thermal effect of an ingot. CONSTITUTION:Top and bottom ends of columns 3 at four corners are as freely movable inserted and connected respectively to upper, lower frames 1, 2. A servocylinder device 11 with a roll gap adjusting mechanism 22 is connected to the connecting body 6 spanned between the top ends of both columns in the ingot 8 transfer direction A above these. For example, if the gap alpha is too narrow, the outputs of a memory 33b and a gap setter 33a are made E<F by a gap alpha detector 17, and a comparator 34 outputs to a drive unit 35. This causes a pulse motor 24 to turn a screw bar 25, then the bar 25 is moved in the direction B by a stationary nut 26, and the spool of a change-over valve 23 also assumes a position I. Oil is then fed into the lower chamber (b) of the device 11 and the frame 1 is moved by means of a rod 11b.
