Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a heat-accumulative element capable of measuring the thermal conductivity in an object or the heat transfer rate by employing a heat-conductive heat-sensitive substance having a specific constitution.
CONSTITUTION: One surface 2 of a disk-shaped heat-sensitive substance 1 of silver, copper or aluminum is provided with heat-resisting black coating, and the whole of the other surface 3 is plated or foiled with silver or aluminum, which has a large total reflectance, and mirror-finished. After a temperature detector 7, such as a thin thermocouple having small heat capacity, thermistor or platinum-electrode resistor, is fused with the heat-sensitive substance 1, this is set in a package 4 whose inner surface 5 has been mirror-finished through a heat-insulating material 6. The heat- accumulative element thus obtained is embedded in an object 9 contacting with a combustor 8 to be measured to allow the heat-resisting black surface 2 to contact with the combustor 8 to measure the rise of the temperature of the heat-sensitive substance 1 when the combustor 8 combusts. Thus, amplifying and differentiating the measured temperature signal permits the measurement of the rate of the heat flowing in the heat-sensitive substance 1 or the heat transfer rate.
