Abstract

PURPOSE: To know the temperature of internal fluid by placing plate of not so much high heat conductivity which is so made that the temperatures on both sides of a pipe or the like are measured, to the outside surface thereof and measuring the temperature difference of, for example, both surfaces and the temperature of one surface.
CONSTITUTION: A plate B of not high heat conduction is placed on the outside of a pipe wall W. The thermocouples of concatenated thermometers or the like are disposed on both surfaces of the plate B so that the temperature of both surfaces are measured. A heater which suitably changes the surface temperatures of the said plate B is added. The temperature of the top surface of the plate B is assumed θ°C, the temperature of the bottom surface τ°C and the internal temperature to be obtained t°C. If it is assumed τ1°C at θ1°C and τ2°C at θ2°C when the temperature of the surface of the plate B is measured by changing θ°C, t°C may be obtained by using formula I. Hence, by measuring the temperature difference (τ11)°C, (τ22)°C on the outside of the pipe as well as the temperatures τ1°C, τ2°C, the temperature t°C of the internal fluid may be known.
