Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled film suitable for use in packaging, by a method wherein finely divided silica and a crystalline polypropylene are melt-kneaded, a crystalline polypropylene is added to the kneaded mixt., the resulting mixt. is melt- kneaded and the resulting pellet is subjected to melt extrusion to produce a film.
CONSTITUTION: In the first stage, 0.5W4pts.wt. of finely divided silica having an average particle diameter of 120μ and 100pts.wt. of a crystalline polypropylene (e.g. an isotactic polypropylene including a copolymer of propylene with a small amount of a comonomer) are melt-kneaded. In the second stage, the compsn. obtd. from the first stage is blended with a crystalline polypropylene in such a proportion as to give a final compsn. having a finely divided silica content of 0.01W0.5wt%. The blend is melt-kneaded to obtain pellets. In the third stage, the pellets are subjected to melt extrusion to produce a film, thereby obtaining the titled polypropylene film.
