Abstract

PURPOSE: An unoriented sheet made of a composition consisting of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and a polyethylene is oriented in one direction under specific conditions to produce title film that biaxially shrinks on heating.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of 50-90 wt% of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer of 5-30 wt% vinyl acetate content and 50-10 wt% of polyethylene of 0.930-0.965 g/cm3 density is melt extruded. Then the resulting film is kept so that the neck down becomes less than 20 % at a orienting temperature of 55-90°C and drawn at a ratio of 3-8 in the longitudinal direction.
EFFECT: An adequate balance between the shrinking property and good flexibility originating from the composition formula permits the resulting film to adhere closely to substrates of irregular form and enables shrinking package loosing-free after packaging.
