Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyolefin compsn. whose average particle size is large, whose content of fine powder is low, and which is useful for the production of a film, by a method wherein a polyolefin is mixed with silicon dioxide powder at a specified temperature, and then the mixt. is mixed with an org. amide.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. Polyolefin (which has an average particle size of 200W 800μ and whose content of fine powder having a particle size of 100μ or smaller is less than 5wt%), is mixed with silicon dioxide powder at a temp. not lower than 50°C, but not higher than the melting point of the polyolefin. In order to uniformly disperse silicon dioxide powder, it is preferred to use a mixer having high shear force such as Henshel mixer. Examples of said polyolfins are polypropylene and an ethylene-propylene random copolymer. Silicon dioxide powder having an average particle size of 10μ or smaller is preferred. This polyolefin compsn. is excellent in antiblocking properties, and can produce a film having good appearance and transparency.
