Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure the satisfying ignition energy and to suppress the electric wave noise generation by forming a part of at least one of rotor electrode and fixed electrode of the material having a specified property. CONSTITUTION:High tention from an ignition coil is guided in from a central terminal 7 through a high tention cable, conducted to a rotor electrode 3 through a spring 8 and a carbon electrode 9 and after having been distributed to a fixed electrode 6 by dielectric breakdown of a discharge gap G is sent to the ignition plug through a high-tention cable. At least one electrode discharging terminal of the rotor electrode 3 of the fixed electrode 6 is divided into two up per and lower portions along the rotation axis direction of the rotor electrode 3, and at least one on said divided discharging terminal is formed of the material of low required tention at the time of dielectric breakdown and at least another discharging terminal is formed of the material of low required tention at the time of inductive discharging.
