Abstract
1443592 Rotary ignition distributers CHRYSLER CORP 7 Jan 1974 [10 Jan 1973] 00573/74 Heading H1N In an ignition distributer in which a stationary distribution electrode 44, Fig. 2, connected to the high tension secondary winding of the ignition coil and having a plurality of projecting electrodes 84 is surrounded by a plurality of stationary output electrodes 78 uniformly angularly disposed within the distributer housing 50 and spaced from the electrode by a uniform spark gap, a rotatable insulating shutter 88 is disposed in the spark gap and has an opening 90 which permits conductive association between the electrode 44 and successive ones of the output electrodes 78. The opening 90 subtends an arc which is less than the spacing between adjacent electrodes 78 but is at least equal to the total timing shift required by the engine as may be determined by an electronic timing system. The distribution electrode 44 is swaged on a central terminal 82 of a distributer cap 50 in which the output electrodes 78 are readily removably located in slots 70 and crimped about the ends of distribution cables 80.
