Abstract

1285700 Interrupters; distributors; magnetic switches JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 3 Dec 1969 [13 Dec 1968] 59548/68 Heading H1N An ignition distributor has a body 1, 5, 11, containing contacts 12 in the cap part 11 of the body and a rotor arm 14 coupled to a shaft 4 having a cam 3 thereon to operate a contactbreaker 2 within a body part 1 and a further operating member 7 of another switch in a housing part 5, is also coupled to the shaft. The contact-breaker is connected to initiate ignition pulses and the member 7 is a magnetic shield arranged to move between a permanent magnet 10 and a sealed magnetic reed contact unit in a fuel injection control circuit. The shield 7 is recessed at 8 and may influence more than one magnet and contact unit combination (Fig. 2, not shown). The operating member may alternatively carry a permanent magnet which operates spaced sealed magnetic reed contact units as it rotates (Fig. 3, not shown).
