Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform brazing of Al free from lack of braze and pinholes by removing the oxide film of the parts to be treated by means of an aqueous corrosive soln., rinsing and neurralizing these then coating the rinsed parts as they are into an aqueous flux soln. thence subjecting these to hot brazing.
CONSTITUTION: The Al parts to be brazed to each other are dipped in an aqueous corrosive soln. such as aqueous NaOH soln. to remove the oxide film on the part surfaces, after which they are rinsed. Following to this, these rinsed Al parts are dipped in an aqueous neutralizing soln., for example, aqueous nitric acid soln., to apply neutralizing treatment, after which they are rinsed. Thence, the Al parts held covered with water by this rinsing are coated with an aqueous flux soln. contg., for example, zinc oxide, NaOH, ferric chloride and Rochelle salt, after which they are subjected to hot brazing. Or said Al parts held covered with water are directly blown with air to be sufficiently dehydrated, after which they may be subjected to heating and brazing in a vacuum furnace.
