Abstract

PURPOSE: The processed surfaces of elevator rails that should be kept corrosion free until installation are covered with pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and the whole part of rails are coated with a coating, thereby allowing the exposure of the processed surfaces on installation only by releasing the adhesive tapes, eliminating the removal of anticorrosive coating from the surface of elevator rails with an inflommable organic solvent and further permitting the automation of the treatment of rails in the factory.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of mechanically processed part 1' and sides nearby of elevator rails 1 are subjected to deoiling treatment and then covered with pressure- sensitive adhesive tapes 2, 2' with 100W1,000g adhesion strength. Then the whole parts of the rail are coated with a coating 3 by spraying or dipping and dried. On installation of elevator, the mechanically processed part 1' can be exposured only by releasing the adhesive tapes 2, 2' on site.
