Abstract
PURPOSE:A swing tower which is so designed as to permit accurate weighing irrespective of the operation of elevators by providing weighing devices which receive the weight of ladles by way of arms to a slewing body and disposing the ladles to the arms by way of the elevators. CONSTITUTION:A slewing body 12 is provided freely slewably around the vertical axial center on a tower base 5. The root end parts of two-pieces 1 set of arms 13 are supported freely turnably on the slewing body 12 and the end parts are extended above a tundish 2. A square hole 16 is formed to the end part of each arm 13, and an elevating frame 18 is disposed within the square hole 16. A trunnion 10a of a ladle 10 is placed on this frame 18. In addition, projections 22 are overhung from both side faces in the central part of the arms 13, and load cells 23 are disposed on the slewing body 12 under the projections 22. The sensing projection 23a of this load cell 23 contacts the under surface of the projection 22, and the weight of the ladle 10 is received by way of the arm 13, cylinder device 20, guide rod 19 and elevating frame 18.
