Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically maintain the quality of water at the regulation value or below by separating waste water from a municipal garbage incinerating plant into two systems of flue gas washing waste water and the other waste water and subjecting the washing waste water alone to special treatment to remove heavy metals.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water from a municipal garbage incinerating plant is separated into two or more systems of flue gas washing waste water and the other waste water. The other waste water system is subjected to flocculation settling by an ordinary method, and the washing waste water to special treatment. In flocculation settling as the 1st process an ordinary inorg. flocculant is used in combination with a heavy metal flocculant. Filtration as the 2nd process may be carried out by gravity filtration or rapid filtration. Adsorption with a mercury adsorbing chelate resin as the 3rd process is carried out by a known metod preferably at ≤about 8pH. The amount of heavy metals in treated water passed through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd processes is entirely below the regulation value, and the water is drained together with treated water of the other waste water system.
