Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the combustion efficiency in the gas burner which has a base member made of a fire proof material and provided with a number of small- diameter through holes, by disposing on the base member a ceramic perforated plate having air holes formed continuously at a specified percentage of voids.
CONSTITUTION: The infrared gas burner comprises a burner body 1, the fire proof base member 2 which is disposed over the opening of the burner body 1 and provided with a number of flame holes 8 passing through the base member 2 in the vertical direction, and the ceramic perforated plate having air holes formed continuously and disposed on the base member 2. Burning starts between the base member 2 and the perforated plate 3 and passes through the holes of the ceramic plate 3. In this while, the ceramic plate 3 is heated sufficiently by the flames to radiate infraed rays. In this instance, the ceramic perforated plate is designed to have the percentrage of voids more than 85% with respect to the entire cross-sectional area. Thus the fuel flowing out of the flame holes 8 of the base member 2 is protected to flow smoothly enouhg to procure a stable combustion in the burner.
