Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately perform toner concentration controlling by performing correction for the fluctuating factors of exposure process and developing process in the toner concentration control method of performing toner concentration detection on the drum of an electrophotographic apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive stripes on the drum are irradiated by the light of a light emitting diode 1 which is let to emit light by the voltage divided from a power source E1 by resistances R1, R2 and the reflected light thereof is detected with a photodiode 2. The output thereof is amplified by an amplifier A1 and is inverted by the inversion circuit consisting of an amplifier A2, and resistance R4, R5. Thence, the set voltage by a variable resistance VR1 is added by the addition circuit consisting of the amplifier A3 and resistances R6-R10. The output thereof is detected and held of its peak by the peak holding circuit consisting of a peak detecting amplifier A4, holding amplifier A5, etc. and the output thereof causes a toner replenishing part to actuate, thereby controlling the toner concentration so that it becomes constant.
