Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a pharmaceutical composition containing a stable suspension of amorphous solid of a macrolide antibiotic substance, by compounding said amorphous solid and a water-soluble cellulosic polymer.
CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition having improved solubility and the rate of dissolution of the effective component is obtained by mixing an amorphous solid macrolide antibiotic substance (e.g. dihydrostreptomycin sulfate, etc.) with pref. 10W50wt% of a water-soluble cellulosic polymer such as hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, etc. The cellulosic polymer prevents the crystallization of the amorphous macrolide antibiotic substance, and stabilize the amorphous solid in the suspension.
