Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve cooling efficiency when direct cooling is difficult by means of cooltant by a method wherein a cooling cylinder split into multi cooling elements is inserted into a cylindrical material to be cooled and each cooling element is pressed to the surface to be cooled with springs.
CONSTITUTION: A cooling cylinder 1 is inserted into a pipe 4 to be cooled and the external surface of each cooling element 3 is pressed to the inner surface of a pipe 1 to be cooled by means of elastic force of a spring 7. In this case, the curvature of the external surface of the cooling element 3 is equal to that of the inner surface of a pipe to be cooled, and a cooling member is made to pass through into a hollow cylinder of sector form section of the cooling element 3. Thus, the external surface of the cooling element 3 is pressed to the body to be cooled 1 and contact can be maintained effectively. As a result, even when cooling is not directly performed with a cooling fluid, high heat transmissibility is obtained and cooling efficiency can be improved.
