Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the installation space and the gross weight of a three-phase transformer bank of high voltage and large capacity by splitting a single-phase transformer into a plurality of unit transformers to form the transformer bank. CONSTITUTION:A single-phase transformer is split into a high-voltage side unit having a high-voltage winding 1 and an excitation winding 3 and a low-voltage side unit having a low-voltage winding 2 and an excitation winding 3, and each of the units is enclosed in a separate transformer tank 7 to form unit single-phase transformers 10A and 10B respectively, which are communicated through an oil duct 8. In the case of a shunt-winding transformer, the excitation windings 3 and 3 of the transformers 10A and 10B are electrically connected through the duct 8. In the case of an autotransformer, the high- and low-voltage windings 1 and 2 and the excitation windings 3 and 3 are electrically connected through the ducts 8 and 8 respectively. Accordingly, splitting the single-phase transformer into a plurality of unit transformers permits the installation space and the gross weight to be reduced.
