Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a uniform inorganic substance film on a high-temperature object by beforehand adding a substance meltable upon coating to an aqueous solution of a high-melting inorganic substance to be coated on the high-temprature object.
CONSTITUTION: In the formation of an inorganic film on the surface of an object, steel material, filtering material, etc., for protecting it from rusting, etc., 0.1W40% an alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt of boric acid, phosphoric acid, etc., as an additive, is beforehand added to an aqueous slurry or solution of an inorganic substance, e.g., a metal, clay, etc., which is to be coated on an object at 300W 1,400°C. Thus, the adhesiveness of the inorganic substance to the object is increased with the aid of the additive which is easily melted and bonded to the object as soon as it comes into contact with the high-temperature object, thus permitting uniform inorgnic film to be formed.
