Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost sliding member having superior wear, adhesion and scuffing resistances and capable of being used at high temp. by plasma spraying mixed powder of Mo powder and Fe-high Cr alloy powder having a specified composition on the surface of a base material to form a sprayed layer. CONSTITUTION:Mixed powder consisting of 10-90wt% Mo powder and 10-90 wt% Fe-high Cr alloy powder is plasma sprayed on the surface of a base material to form a sprayed layer. The Fe-high Cr alloy consists of 55-70wt% Cr, <=3wt% C and the balance Fe, and Si, Mn, P, S, etc. may be contained like ordinary carbon steel. The Vickers hardness of the sprayed layer is about 350-400.
