Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve abrasion resistance cosiderably by combining the coating layes of tool parts consisting basically of super hard alloys, thermet, and ferrous materials by utilizing the respective characteristics of high hardness materials and lubricative materials. CONSTITUTION:The inner coating layers on the surfaces of tool parts consisting basically of super hard alloys, thermet and ferrous materials are formed of the composite phases consisting of the hard phase consisting of 1 or >=2 kinds selected from carbides, nitrides, borides, carbonitrides, oxycarbides, oxynitrides, nitroborides, aluminum oxide, aluminum oxynitride of periodic table 4a, 5a, 6a group metals and the sulfides of metal. The outer coating layers are of the above- described hard phase. The above-described metal sulfides are the sulfides of perriodic table 4a, 5a, 6a group metals, particularly preferably, the sulfide of Ti.
