Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a generation of smut and provide the titled supporring element having a superior water holding characteristic and obrasion resisting feature by a method wherein an alumimum plate is electrolyted in an electrolyte acid solution to form a rough surface and treated by alkali under a condition producing no hydrogen gas, and anodized.
CONSTITUTION: Alternative current is fed to an aluminum (alloy) plate in such a manner as an electric capacity at anode (QA) is higher than an electric capacity at cathode (QC) in an electrolyte acid solution (hydrochloric acid solution of 0.5W 5wt%) (preferably QC/QA is 0.3W0.95) to form a rough surface by electrolyte treatment (preferably at 2W3 volt, 10W80A/dm2, 100W18,000 Coulomb/dm2). Then, the plate surface is treated by alkali under a condition producing no hydrogen gas (hydroxi sodium water solution of 0.5W40% is preferably applied at 10W 80°C for 0.1W15sec) and then treated for anodizing (high density of current is preferable in sulfuric acid) to produce a desired supporting member.
USE: Photo sensitive layer of PS plate is arranged on the supporting member to obtain a photo sensitive lithographic press plate.
