Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate dissipation losses owing to the secular change of a spheroidizing agent and perform titled pouring by allowing the molten metal which has temporarily been stayed in the reacting pot containing the graphite spheroidizing agent to overflow from the pot and admitting the same directly into a mold.
CONSTITUTION: This spheroidizing device 20 is placed on a predetermined mold 13, and molten metal 15 is poured from a ladle 14. The molten metal 15 enters the inside of a reacting pot 8 but a final molten metal extracting hole 10 is held closed by an iron cover 11 and since a graphite spheroidizing agent is placed thereon, the molten metal is stayed in the pot 8 and reacts with the spheroidizing agent 12. As the molten metal 15 through a pouring cup 2 is continuously poured, the molten metal 15 overflows from the pot 8 and stays and accumulates in the reacting chamber 3. After this, the cover 7 in the bottom of the chamber 3 is melted by the heat of the molten metal 15, by which the tapping hole 6 is opened and the molten metal 15 is admitted into the mold 13. When the pouring from the ladle 14 ends and the spheroidizing agent 12 begins to react and dissipate, the cover 11 is melted and the molten metal 15 in the pot 8 is completely led into the mold 13, thus it results in that the molten metal 15 in the pot 8 and chamber 3 annihilates completely.
