Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a rotor which strength is high and electric characteristics are excellent by a method wherein the specified quantity of a copper.silicon.manganese alloy is used for a rotor bar, and a junction with a short-circuit ring is suddenly welded in a protective gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A material of a rotor bar is formed by a copper.silicon.manganese alloy, which contains 0.1-1.0% silicon and 0.1-0.5% manganese and whose remainder consists of copper. A junction portion between the rotor bar in such a material and a short-circuit ring is united by means of quickly heating welding execution in an atmosphere of a protective gas, such as argon, helium, etc. Thus, the quality of the junction portion can be uniformalized, and a rotor which is stout and reliability is high can be obtained.
