Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a highly reliable coil while achieving a working efficiency in an electrical rotary machine with a cage coil composed of bar conductors and a short-circuit ring with a variation in the way of connection between the two component and the construction thereof by using a high tensile non-magnetic material such as non-magnetic steel for the short-circuit ring.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical rotor core 1 made of laminated circular silicon steel plates and plates 2 adapted to hold the core 1 with a pressure applied from both sides thereof are fitted into a rotary shaft 6. A plurality of copper or copper alloy bar conductors each with a trapezoidal section are securely inserted into circumferential grooves of the core 1 and exposed outside the core by a proper length at both ends. The both ends of the conductors 3 are securely inserted into a plurality of circumferential grooves of a short-circuit ring 4. The conductors 3 and the ring 4 are connected together by electron beam welding for example. With such an arrangement, electron beam welding, which provides a good conection in the combination of different kinds of metals, can be applied. Accordingly, high tensile non-magnetic materials such as stainless steel and high tensile aluminium can be used instead of copper, a conventional material, for the ring 4, thus providing a highly reliable coil while achieving a working efficiency.
