Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent electrolytic corrosion taking place between teeth and slot wedges or a holding ring and to raise the reliabilitity, by providing circumferential grooves on the teeth and conducting the induced currents of the teeth to damper damper bars through the slot wedges.
CONSTITUTION: Teeth 5 are provided between slots in which a field winding 3 is housed. Circumferential grooves 10 are provided on the parts of the teeth 5 corresponding to the joints 11 of slot wedges 4A, 4B divided from each other at an appropriate length. The width δ of the groove 10 is larger than that δw of the wedge joint 11. The depth h of the groove is equal to the thickness of the wedge 4. An induced current ia flowing through each tooth is conducted from the end face 5c of the groove 10 to a damper bar 6 through the slot wedge 4. As a result, the induced current does not concentrate the contact parts of the tooth 5 and the wedge 4 or a holding ring 8. Therefore, electrolytic corrosion is prevented.
