Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of an amortisseur coil of a synchronous machine by suitably selecting the ratio of the interval of conductor bars to the intervals of the grooves of a stator core, thereby lowering the level of harmonic current generated at the bars. CONSTITUTION:Conductor bars 2 are so disposed that the ratio A/B of the interval A of conductor bar 2 to the interval B of the grooves 5 of a stator core is set to a value in the range of 0.85-0.95 or 1.05-1.15. In this manner, the level of the harmonic current generated in the conductor bars 2 is lowered to minimize and average the current distribution of the conductor bars 2 and short- circuiting ring, thereby reducing thermal stress and enhancing the reliability of an amortisseur coil of the synchronous machine.
