Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the power-factor, by providing a tertiary winding in the same winding manner as a primary winding on a stator core combined with a squirrel- cage rotor and connecting a capacitive reactor to the teriary winding.
CONSTITUTION: The three-phase induction motor 1' has the Y-connected or delta- connected primary winding 2 or 2' on th stator core and has the sequirrel- cage rotor 3. The Y-connected or delta-connected tertiary winding 21 or 21' is provided on the stator core in the same winding manner as the primary winding. The number of turns of the tertiary winding 21 or 21' is not less than the double of the primary winding 2 or 2'. Capacitors C or C' are connected as the capacitive reactor to the tertiary winding. Thereby, the motor can be run at a power-factor of almost 100% and the efficiency can be improved. Even if the rotor stops due to overload, no heavy current flows through the primary winding. Therefore, the primary winding is prevented from burning.
