Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the higher harmonic asynchronous torque of a squirrel-cage induction motor and prevent crawling, by providing slits between rotor core slots containing secondary conductors so that the electric resistance between the secondary conductors is increased.
CONSTITUTION: The rotor of the squirrel-cage induction motor is made of the secondary conductors 3 housed in the slots provided in numerous stratified iron sheets. The slits 6 are opened between the secondary conductors 3 so that the electric resistance between the conductors is increased. Thus, the higher harmonic asynchronous torque is reduced and the decrease in the minimum acceleration torque due to the difference in the electric resistance between the secondary conductors 3 of the rotor is prevented. This results in preventing crawling. The slits 6 can be applied to a skewed motor as well.
