Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable stabilization of the film diameter and high speed take-up of the film in the manufacturing step by prolonging the distance and time required for the contact of the cylindrical film with cooling water thereby to improve the cooling effect. CONSTITUTION:A film 2 extruded from a mouth piece 1 is expanded in diameter by air blasted from a blasting pipe 3, and cooled with cooling water on the upper step cooling ring 41, and lower cooling ring 42 of a cooling device 4. The cooling water in a pressure reduction chamber 44 is supplied through a water supply pipe 46' and a part of the cooling water is exhausted through an exhaust pipe 47', and the major part thereof is sucked up by means of a pump 6 as shown by arrow A. The larger the pressure reduction water suction function of the pump 6, the better. If the pump 6 has a function more than the difference A between the level of water stored in the inner side reduction chamber and the level of water on the upper ring 41, the film 2 is taken up downward while pressing and sealing cooling water on the outer peripheral surface, and hence variation in the diameter of the film 2 becomes small, and the time required for contacting cooling becomes large, so that the high-speed take-up of the film 2 becomes possible.
