PURPOSE:To miniaturize color VTR by integrating chrominance difference signal system for recording and reproduction and by sharing a burst gate circuit, etc., in recording mode and in reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:In recording mode, a chrominance difference signal is processed in the route of input terminal 6, selective amplifying circuit 30, frequency converting circuit 31, BPF13, and mixing circuit 5 and color killer control is exercised by way of amplifying circuit 30, burst gate circuit 32, color killer circuit 32, and converting circuit 31. In reproduction mode, the chrominance difference signal is processed via BPF20, amplifying circuit 30, converting circuit 31, BPF24, and regenerative output amplifying circuit 36 and the color killer control is exercised by way of BPF24, gate circuit 32, killer circuit 33, and regenerative amplifying circuit 36. Thus, one selective amplifying circuit, frequency converting circuit, burst gate circuit, and color killer circuit each are only required, so that color VTR can be miniaturized.
