Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the phase difference between the input subcarriers of the both detectors correctly at ±90°, by inverting one input subcarrier of the APC and killer detectors at recording and reproduction, through the selective operation of the differential amplifier.
CONSTITUTION: The current source I of the differential pair is selected, and the differential pair is operated alternatively, to invert the output signal at the terminal 6, i.e., the input subcarrier of one detector at recording and reproduction. Further, the transmission path of the subcarrier to reach the output terminal is only via the differential pair of one stage both for the signals at the terminal 5 and 6, and the base to collector and the collector to ground capacitance of the transistor in OFF state can be negligible with smaller load resistor r, allowing the phase difference between the output signals at the both output terminals, i.e., the phase difference between the both detectors to be selected to surely +90° and - 90° at recording and reproduction.
