Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize color VTR by sharing a frequency converting circuit and amplifying circuit for chrominance difference signals in recording mode and in reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:Selective amplifying circuit 23 is supplied with a recording chrominance difference signal and a reproduced low-frequency chrominance difference signal separated from a reproduced signal. Then, amplifying circuit 23, when the recording mode is assigned with a selection control signal from terminal 25, selects and amplifies the recording chrominance difference signal and, when the reproduction mode is assigned, selects and amplifies the reproduced low-frequency chrominance difference signal to send its output to frequency converting circuit 24. Next, converting circuit 24 performs frequency conversion of the output signal of amplifying circuit 23 into a converting carrier signal of a prescribed frequency. Thus, one frequency converting circuit and selective amplifying circuit each are shared in recording mode and in reproduction mode, so that color VTR can be miniaturized.
