Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a low-melting magnetic-alloy for dental use having a good castability by using Co, Ni, Au, Pd, and Si in a specific proportion. CONSTITUTION:A composition includes 20-35wt% of Co, 20-40wt% of Ni, 5- 20wt% of Au, 30-70wt% of Pd as the essential component and less than 5wt% of Si. Specifying Co between 20 and 35% is to lower the melting point to about 1,350 deg.C or less so that the Co forms an alloy with Pd to produce a corrosion resistant magnetic alloy. Ni in the amount of 20-40% is not to reduce magnetic flux density. Adding Au lowers the melting point, improves the surface of a cast, and enhances the accuracy in casting. The Si improves castability and extremely reduces voids in a cast. The composition thus provides a dental-use magnetic-alloy having a good castability.
