Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled high luminance, low cost calcium sulfide fluorescent material having improved hydrolysis resistance, by coating the surface of a fluorescent particle composed of an EU-doped calcium sulfide, etc. with Eu-doped yttrium oxide, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective fluorescent material is prepared by coating (A) the surface of a fluorescent particle composed of calcium sulfide doped with Eu (pref. 10-5W10-8 gram atom per 1mol) or Eu and Ce (pref. ≤0.2atom per 1atom of Eu) and pref. mixed with iodine, chlorine, etc., with (B) yttrium oxide or yttrium oxysulfide doped with Eu (pref. 0.01W0.10g atom per 1mol). The thickness of the coating layer is 0.5W2μm to achieve sufficient protection.
EFFECT: It can be mass produced as a fluorescent material for color TV tube.
