Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform displaying of multiple codes extremely easily by forming correctable codes, symbols, or patterns to an original pattern and properly correcting the codes, symbols or patterns of the sand mold manufactured by this means.
CONSTITUTION: Displaying of date of production and order of production of the time when metal molds for casting are manufactured and castings are produced with these is easily performed. For example, common codes etc. 12 are formed as shallow grooves on the inside surface of an original pattern 11. With this as a female mold, a sand mold 10 is manufactured to form the codes of the same shape as thin-walled projecting flights. Part of the projecting flights of this sand mold 10 are cut off to form predetermined codes. For example, they are assumed to be figures 13 denoting 365. With this and mold 10 as a male mold, a metal mold 6 for casting is manufactured. If a casting 7 is cast by using this metal mold 6 as a female mold, the codes corrected with the sand mold 10 are obtained on the surface of the casting 7. If in this way the codes etc. that permit correction are beforehand formed to the original pattern, the various codes etc. are obtained with ease.
