Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a friction material for a brake, scarcely wearing a mold during molding, and excellent in friction characteristics, by dispersing a solid lubricant and a copper-plated hard inorganic filler in a base material of a sintered bronze alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A solid lubricant, such as lead, graphite or molybdenum disulfide, and a hard inorganic filler, such as a copper-plated silica, kyanite, feldspar or ceramic, are dispersed in a base material of a sintered bronze alloy.
EFFECT: It is possible to stabilize friction characteristics and to largely improve moldability.
