Abstract

PURPOSE: To contrive to prevent chromium ion from being eluted from the obtained treated substance by cooling a molten slag containing chromium at a cooling speed of 5°C/min or more over a temp. range from a molten condition thereof up to 400°C.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a slag containing chromium in a molten condition is exhausted onto a predetermined iron plate (or, into a casting mold) and cooled and solidified at a cooling speed of 5°C/min or more over a temp. range from a molten condition to 400°C by changing the thickness of said slag. If an elution test based on the bulletin of the Environment Agency, Japanese Government is carried out to calculate an elutied amount of chromium ion, at a cooling speed of 5°C/min, the elution of chromium ion is controlled abruptly and, moreover, at a cooling speed faster than 5°C/min, the elution of chromium ion is controlled effectively.
