Abstract

PURPOSE:To weld the lags of electrode plates in a short time with a reduced amount of lead, by pressing and fusing them with a pair of heating-and-pressing tools to make an assembled-element terminal. CONSTITUTION:Lags 9 of an electrode plate 6 and 6' are fused and unified to make an assembled element. Each lag 9 is provided with a projection, and the lags 9 are pressed and fused with the help of a pair of heating-and-pressing tools 12 and 13. Each of the tools 12 and 13 is provided with a concave part 16, and besides, a heating chip 15 is attached to the concave part 16; the shape of the concave part 16 is like that of a desired assembled-element terminal which is divided into halves. In welding, the lag 9 is fused and cooled within the concave part 16, thus forming an assembled-element terminal. Since current is fed after the lags 9 are pressed with the tools 12 and 13, the projecting end of the lag and the heating chip 15 are heated in an instant, and dirt or oxidixed films which are attached to their welded surfaces are removed, thereby enabling an excellent welding. For the heating chip 15, either graphite or Hastelloy is preferred.
