Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the nondestructive measurement with good mainpulation, by providing the neutron irradiation part and the watertight foil vessel which can be freely attached and detached, on both the sides placing the control bar between them, on the base plate equipped with the notch into which the control bar is inserted together with the moderator and spacer, and detecting the control bar penetrating neutron. CONSTITUTION:The control bar 2 is inserted into the notch 4 of the base plate together with the moderator and spacer 30 which is 1-5cm in thickness by converting it to water of normal temperature, without being damaged by use of the soft members 16, 11. As for this base plate 1, the neutron source 8, the neutron irradiation cavity 5, etc. are installed at the spacer 30 side placing the bar 2 between, and the foil cassette 17 which is watertight, can be freely attached and detached, and accomodates a resonant neutron absorbing foil in its inside is installed at the other side, and the neutron penetrating the bar 2 is detected with good manipulation. The neutron abosrber density can be measured nondestructively and with good operativeness based upon the afore-mentioned detection value.
