Abstract

PURPOSE: Titled copolymer which has a specified range of an intrinsic viscosity in decalin and is excellent in impact resistance, etc., and suitable for the production of car parts, etc., comprising a random copolymer of propylene and a 5W12C linear α-olefin and a random copolymer of ethylene and a 5W12C linear α-olefin.
CONSTITUTION: The titled copolymer is obtained by combining (a) 50W99pts.wt. of a random copolymer of propylene and a 5W12C linear α-olefin such as pentene-1, hexene-1, heptene-1, octene-1, nonene-1 or decene-1 with (b) 50W1pts.wt. of a binary random copolymer of ethylene and a 5W12C linear α-olefin or a ternary random copolymer of ethylene, propylene and a 5W12C linear α-olefin so that the resulting block copolymer has an MW corresponding to an intrinsic viscosity in decalin at 135°C, of 0.3W15dl/g.
