Abstract
PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of an alminium-halogen thin-type battery by adding a given proportion of either a magnesium halide or a zinc halide to a positive-active- material layer made of a halide compound. CONSTITUTION:A separator 3 is placed on a thin negative-active-material layer 1 made of aluminum, and a positive active material 2 is placed on the separator 3. Next, these are interposed between a negative collector 4 and a positive collector 5, and the whole constitutes a thin-type battery. The positive active material 2 is prepared by using a halide compound, for example, a N-halocarbonic amido or imido like N-iodosuccinic imido, copper bromide, lead chloride or cesium iodide. And a magnesium halide or a zinc halide such as magnesium fluoride or zinc chloride is added to that. Here, the amount added for lengthening the life of the battery should be 0.001-0.005mol per mol positive active material.
