Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a number of driving electric sources controlling ink jet characteristics by a method wherein opposing electrodes are divided into a plurality of electrodes with a density coarser than a orientating density of recording electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Divided control electrodes 6a-6n are opposing to four sets of recording electrodes 4 respectively. Recording electrodes 7a-7d are connected sequentially to four sets of the recording electrodes 4 respectively. If a number of the control electrodes 6a, 6b... is supposed to be n sets and a number of recording electric sources 7a, 7b... opposing to one control electrode is supposed to be m sets, a total number of necessary recording electric sources 7a, 7b,... and control electric sources 10a, 10b,... with respect to mXn sets of the recording electrodes 4 is m+n sets. When it is compared with a system in prior art wherein a necessitated total number of the recording electric sources 7a, 7b,... was mXn sets, which is the same number of the recording electrodes 4, the number of the electric sources are reduced.
